I’m a filmmaker and photographer based in the English Lake District. I get asked to create all kinds of things: Films that showcase the best of a business, images of places that people hold dear, media to flaunt an amazing new product, coverage of incredible events or to simply tell a story that is begging to be told.
Regardless of the project, I aim to provide my creative services in an uncomplicated, effective and hassle-free way.
That’s me in the picture up there, on Striding Edge in the worst weather of the month, filming an event for a client. I loved every minute of it! Let’s just say that the lengths I will go to in order to get the shots are a little further than most.
I love a happy client, in fact I don’t recall having an unhappy one. Understanding the goals of a project is the key to getting it right and that’s where it all starts.
Commissioning a film or a set of still images really couldn’t be easier. I talk in plain terms and aim to deliver a product we can both be proud of, stress free and in a timely manner.
It’s been a long journey to get here. I lived and worked in Asia for much of my adult life working in international business (that’s a posh way of saying I used to sell cash registers), I was a teacher and a freelance Graphic Designer. I still enjoy doing some teaching as a University Lecturer from time to time.
I have some bits of paper that say I can do things; a BA in Adventure Media (yes, that is a thing) and an MA in Creative Practice (which is as broad as it sounds).
I have a real interest in raising awareness of environmental and sustainability issues through my work, but without hugging too many trees. Film and photography are very powerful tools when used well.
I believe that everyone has interesting ideas and it’s a real pleasure to be able to make them a reality. I could chat about filmmaking and photography all day, so if you’ve got even a spark of an idea, get in touch and we can figure out what it will take to make it happen.
